If you are ever in Chattanooga, Tn during the holidays stop in Rock City Gardens and enjoy the Christmas lights. If you don't mind the crowds it is fun before Christmas. They have local Chorus groups there to sing, they have crafts and pictures with Santa.
Our family hates crowds so we enjoy Rock City after Christmas Day, we went last night. We like to continue the fun of the holidays after Christmas Day. I even enjoy watching a good Christmas movie after Christmas Day. There is more time to just enjoy! I still want to watch the Polar Express!
We leave our tree up until New Years, it's sad to me to take it down too soon.

Tombstone Tuesday
This is the tombstone for my Great Great Grandfather Kimbal Edgemon and wife Kizziar Edgemon. They are buried at the Edgemon Cemetery in Ten Mile, Tn. At the foot of Kimbal's grave there was another stone marking the fact that he was in the Civil War.
They were the parents of my Great Grandmother Lettie Edgemon Wilson.

Tombstone Tuesday Eugene Kelly
Eugene Douglas Kelly was my Dad's older brother. Eugene was born June 28,1920 and died March 22,1945. He is buried in the Luxembourg American (ABMC) Cemetery which is the same Cemetery where General George S. Patton is buried.I found my Uncle's tombstone at Find a Grave I added a picture of the family that was taken the last time the whole family was together. Eugene was almost 25 years old when he was killed. Eugene never married. None of his nieces or nephews ever knew him. A life cut short but not forgotten.
I thought that the Army had got his name spelled wrong on his tombstone but a cousin and I found some papers with his hand writing where He spelled his name Kelly. Don't know why because all of the other family spelled it Kelley.
Polar Bear Frozen Custard Shop
Some pictures just deserve another look! I posted this Interesting Photo and Thomas left some information then after he did some research (Thanks so much) came back with a couple of links for me to check out. There was a Polar Bear Frozen Custard shop in Washington D.C. which it is possible this is where the picture was taken since my Grandmother had a brother who lived in D.C.
I did a little research and found to my surprise that there was a Polar Bear Frozen Custard Shop in Nashville, Tn which closed in the early 1940's. This site will give you some history of the Polar Bear Frozen Custard Shop in Nashville, Tn.
I found several pictures of the Polar Bears now at this next site.
I haven't found any pictures of the Polar Bear Frozen Custard shop in Nashville but one of the links Thomas left was a picture of the shop in Wichita,Kansas. This shop was a little different than the picture I have.

I don't know any of the men in the picture. I think it is fun to research these old pictures it gives you a glimpse into what the world was like when our parents and grandparents were young.
