HarrietThis looks like a drive-in type custard stand (for frozen soft serve - in upstate NY we call it frozen custard) perhaps in a tourist destination. I think there is the word "blackberry" painted on the glass of the main window.
Thanks for your information! I had several Great Aunts and Uncles who lived in Dayton,Oh and one who lived in D.C.The Uncle in D.C. married a lady from New York. When you get old pictures it really shows you how important it is to put names and dates on the back. I've been wondering how well I've done at recording information on my pictures.
I don't have a clue where this is, but looks like it was a fun place to visit. Good luck identifying it.
Well HarrietIt seems there was a Polar Bear Frozen Custard stand in the DC area - actually on Georgia Avenue near Silver Springs, MD:http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/02/12/AR2009021203570_pf.htmlAnd I think it was a chain - here's one similar in Kansas:http://members.cox.net/wichitahpa/Polar%20Bear.html
Wow! Thanks for your help! I checked both links. This looks like a pretty cool place. I'm sure the frozen custard was good too.
Thanks Lisa for stopping by. Looks like Thomas has given me lots of help on this one.
