Warning!!

Warning! Last night I checked my e-mail and had an e-mail from Footnote.com they had a message from someone on Footnote who claimed to have information for me. She requested that I e-mail her so she could send me the information. I guess I was so excited that maybe I would get information that I've been looking for that I send her an e-mail. This morning I found it was not information but a scam!! I'm sure others have seen or heard about the letters with some story and how they need money or in this case need you to claim to be her late husband's foreign business partner. Go to a security company claim a box and then meet her and you will be given 25% of the contents. The box has 9.5 million US dollars!
I then went to the profile of the person and reported it to Footnote! I really hate to see people doing these type things especially on our Genealogy sites.

New Look!

Since I was unable to get a new background to work from the Cutest Blog on the Block. I decided to remove all features from them and see if the Photo Bucket comment would disappear, it did!! I just used the new background feature that Blogger has and so far things are working! Has anyone else had trouble with the Cutest Blog background?

More Strange Things Happen On This Blog!

A few weeks ago ALL comments disappeared. They came back one day this week. Not sure why they disappeared or why they returned. Now the background on my blog is gone. I changed the background and still it doesn't show up. Maybe it is my computer?? Please! someone tell me when you look at my blog is there a background or just white? There is a box that appears which says This image or video has been moved or deleted. Photobucket. What is Photobucket??

Sallie Farrell Ziegler

This photo of Sallie Ziegler was made sometime in the 1960's. This was made in her living room. I had several comments the last picture I posted of my Great Grandmother so I decided to tell a little more about her. She lived in Chattanooga with her daughter Christian Ziegler. As I remember they came to see my Grandparents almost every Sunday afternoon. People did lots of visiting back then, lots of people would come to visit my grandparents and we got to see them since we lived next door.
I have a couple of birthday cards which she sent to me when I was a small child, I need to find them and scan them. They always brought my brother and I a chocolate Easter Bunny. They came for Thanksgiving Dinner at my Grandparents house.
She told stories of her life, I just wish I could remember them all now. The one that I remember was that they moved to Oregon sometime in the late 1800's and my grandfather and his Dad were both sick by the time they got there. I remember asking her how they traveled and she said they went by train and it was so cold on the train "Johnny and Will" were sick.
My Great Aunt Lillie Mae (Harry's wife) recorded some of Grandma talking about her life, but I don't know what happened to the tapes. What a treasure that would be to have my Great Grandmother's voice recorded.
Her favorite TV show was Lawrence Welk! She didn't understand TV and so she thought if she could see the people on TV, then they could see her. So every Saturday evening she had to get dressed up and fix her hair to watch Lawrence Welk. She would get upset with her daughter because she didn't dress up for the show. She wanted to go to California and see Lawrence Welk and dance with him on the show.

New to the Family!

We adopted two new cats back in June. Above is Starsky who is 6 years old  and  he is so sweet! He has to find a place to hide from his new friend, Bentley.
Bentley is 6 months old and very playful! He loves the computer chair and trying to help on the computer!
We adopted them from the shelter where my kids volunteer.

Changes to Genealogy Fun

The past few days have beem busy, I joined Facebook! My next step has been to try to link Facebook to Genealogy Fun. Thanks to Becky Jamison for help and advise.
I made several changes to the blog some on purpose and some I'm not sure how it happened. Since I recently joined Footnote I added a badge. That was easy so I added a Facebook badge, then I noticed that my comments on the blog were gone. I thought it might be a problem with Blogger but then they didn't come back. I removed the Facebook badge still no comments, then put the badge back. I really hope I'll be able to get the comments back but it isn't looking good. I hate that I've lost all comments.
Becky suggested I link to Networked Blogs so I did this.  My hope is that I'll find someone researching the same families.
Hope to have somemore genealogy post soon.
