Edgar and Fay Kelley

Edgar and Fay Kelley had six children, the above photo is Edgar and Fay with baby Eugene and left to right Bonnie and Lydia.

Edgar, Tom and Betty.
This maybe the only photo of Edgar with Tom and Betty. I remember my Dad was very proud to get a copy of this picture. Dad was only five years old when his father died so he didn't remember much about him.

After a little work on the photo you can see Edgar a little better.  I think my Dad looked like his father.
As far as I know there isn't a picture of  the youngest child, David, since he was only 2 months old when his Dad died.

The Journey Back Through the Kelley Family

This morning on Facebook I saw that Bill Smith had used http://www.imagechef.com/ to add frames to some pictures. They were really cute so I decide to give it a try. Above is the one I made, this photo is of my Mom and Dad on their wedding day August 14,1953.  This is a cool site and easy to use.
This is a good place to start the journey back through the  Kelley Family. My Mom and Dad were married August 14,1953, they were married almost 48 years when my Dad died on August 2, 2001. They married at the  home of my Mom's brother. Only the family attended the Wedding. Mom's pastor married them and my Dad's pastor was his best man. Aunt Christian was Mom's maid of honor.

New Family

It seemed to be time to change the Featured Family. I didn't have more information on the Farrell family and I didn't connect with anyone related to the Farrell family.
The next family is the Kelley family. I have a copy of the Joel Kelley book, published in Sept. 1984 which has lots of information and pictures of the family. Maybe I'll connect with a long lost Kelley cousin! If anyone thinks they maybe related please e-mail me (hfbrumley@yahoo.com) and I'll be glad to look up the name in the book.
I'll try to decide on a picture and get that at the top of the blog soon.

Summer Is Over

Officially fall starts on September 23; however, the unofficial end to summer is the start of school. The start of school here is today, August 11. Way! Way! too early for school to start. Children in school trying to study when it's still summer. The temperature this morning at 6 was 80 degrees and they are calling for a high of 99 this afternoon. Hope the AC  at school works!
Growing up we always started to school the Tuesday after Labor Day. Wonder what was wrong with that plan? When school starts there is a feeling of sadness the carefree fun days of summer are over and now school all day, homework, projects.
There is something to be said for getting back on schedule. We always seem to have a better schedule during the school year, getting up and going to bed, even eating meals on schedule.
Today is the first day of school but it is the first time in 15 years that I haven't taken my children to school on the first day. My daughter will start college (2nd year) on the 23 of August and my son is a senior in high school. He will be driving this year. Can my nerves take it!
Hopefully there will be more genealogy post here soon!
