Warning!!

Warning! Last night I checked my e-mail and had an e-mail from Footnote.com they had a message from someone on Footnote who claimed to have information for me. She requested that I e-mail her so she could send me the information. I guess I was so excited that maybe I would get information that I've been looking for that I send her an e-mail. This morning I found it was not information but a scam!! I'm sure others have seen or heard about the letters with some story and how they need money or in this case need you to claim to be her late husband's foreign business partner. Go to a security company claim a box and then meet her and you will be given 25% of the contents. The box has 9.5 million US dollars!
I then went to the profile of the person and reported it to Footnote! I really hate to see people doing these type things especially on our Genealogy sites.

Gosh Darn... There are so many scams out there... I get junk mail telling me that I've won a trillion dollars, etc... I have learned just to ignore them totally...

Sorry they got you.... Once they have your email address --you'll get alot more of those kinds of things... Just BEWARE.

Hugs,
Betsy

I would not send anyone money or meet them but I hate getting these things. I hope by letting Footnote know about it they will put a stop to this one.
