Spring Flowers

I have seen some beautiful pictures on other blogs of the spring flowers which I have enjoyed.

I have one to share of my Daffodils, they are gone now. They were beautiful this year.

My mother-in-law gave the Daffodils to me many years ago. She just gave me a few, she said they will multiply. They have and I've spread them out in the yard. I always feel like spring is here when the Daffodils bloom. I think of her when I look out and see them.

I share this story with my son each year (I'm sure he is tired of hearing it). The first year they were ALMOST ready to bloom and he (just a small guy) picked them ALL for me. How sweet!
Then I had to tell him no they will not open up, it was too soon to pick. So these Daffodils have special meaning to me because they were from my mother-in-law and because my son wanted me to enjoy the flowers inside.
Isn't it funny how certain flowers remind us of different family members and hold such special stories.
I just noticed this morning that my Dogwood trees look like they will bloom soon!

You're so right about the family associations of flowers - sweet peas always make me think of my mother.
